Download began as a side project of cEvin key and Dwayne Goettel. The two puppy members got together with Phil Western and Mark Spybey to record the album "Furnace." After the death of Dwayne in 1995, Phil left, but has returned. Mark Spybey left the band recently to work on his other project, Dead Voices on Air. Other members of Download include Ken Marshall and Anthony Valcic. Genesis P-Orridge of Throbbing Gristle appeared on 'Furnace,' 'Microscopic,' and 'the eyes of Stanley Pain' doing vocals on those albums. It is not known why Gen is no longer doing vocals for Download. Unfortunately people come and go, and the core line up of Download is now just Key and Western.

And as for the lyrics to those songs? Do you people have any idea just how difficult it is to transcribe some of this stuff? I thought Ogre was difficult to beat in the lyrical understanding department, but I was wrong! Hidden under all those synths and noise is Mark Spybey, who is much more difficult to hear than Genesis (and less annoying, might I add...) and even after *locating* his voice, you gotta narrow it down. Oh well.. i did the best i could, lets get on with it shall we?

Just who the hell is Stanley Pain anyway?
